biofuels for vehicle

If you're gonna go get yourself an alternative fuel vehicle then you better get acquainted with the types of biofuel. It is defined as any type of fuel derived from biological sources. Biofuels are used in households around the world as fuel for heating purposes and in some countries, they are used to propel vehicles. Here are the most common types:

Vegetable oil. It's not only useful in the kitchen but on the road, too. Used vegetable oil usually undergoes treatment (which usually involves heating) before they're ready to be used as fuel. However, there are certain engines available today that are compatible with non-processed vegetable oil.

Biodiesel. Derived from processed organic oils and fats, it is one of the most common types of biofuel and has the least emission level. In the last ten years, most diesel engines are already configured for biodiesel compatibility. Its use has also dramatically increased in the US in the last two years.

Alcohol fuel. Prime examples include ethanol, propanol and butanol. Ethanol is widely popular worldwide, especially in South America where motorists use it in place of gasoline or a mixture of both. However, ethanol can be very corrosive and is often diluted to decrease its corrosive effect.

Biogas. This is produced when biodegradable materials undergo anaerobic digestion (through the help of microorganisms). In compressed form, it can be used to fuel internal combustion engines in cars.

Syn-gas. Synthesis gas is basically combined carbon monoxide and hydrogen. It can be used easily as fuel on internal combustion engines.

New generation biofuels. These are newly discovered bio-derived types which scientists are currently exploring as feasible alternative fuels. These include non-food crops which when subjected to further processing can yield usable fuel. In some countries, algae are being carefully studied as a possible source of fuel.

Of course, the effective use of this type of alternative fuel is still being discussed today. The main issue is how to achieve sustainable production and accordingly, the manner of distribution to consumers. On the upside, if they do become the primary source of fuel for vehicles, it could cause far less damage to the atmosphere compared to fossil fuels. Will biofuels ever replace petroleum fuels? Only time will tell.

gas or electric energy for your home

Before you can see which oven will be best for your home lets explore the benefits of both gas and electric fuel types. Some people will swear by gas or electric and everyone seems to have a preference, but which one will suit you? Well that is something which can easily be discovered.

Sometimes your new oven model will be decided for you, depending on the fuel supply in your area, so before you purchase a new gas or electric oven, make sure that it will be compatible with your home.

There are many advantages of the two oven types, first of all electric ovens are known for their ease of use, also the fact they provide a brilliant even cooking temperature throughout the cavity. Electric ovens come with great features such as being fan assisted - which circulates the air around the appliance and ensures provides great even cooking temperatures. Gas ovens are equally as popular as electric ovens, they keep the food inside the cavity moist and can provide brilliant crisping on top of meals. Bakers swear by gas ovens as cakes and bread come out of the oven with a lighter texture making them moist and delicious.

Electric vs. gas ovens seems to be an ongoing debate - but the beauty of it is is that everyone is different. Why not team your electric oven with a gas hob? Or visa versa. You can enjoy cooking using both fuel types and customise your oven / hob to perform for what you need it for most.

Currently, one of the most popular models for electric is the Hotpoint BD52K double oven, this model boasts some excellent features and has a double cavity meaning you can cook more at once at various temperatures. This flexible electric oven allows you to slow cook and defrost and is reliable and stylish, this oven should be considered by anyone currently looking for an electric double oven. Alternatively, the Stoves 900GDOMk2 gas double oven is a popular choice for those wanting gas. Again this oven has two cavities, meaning more freedom while you cook and with great features such as an included grill pan and knob control types this type of oven is simple to use and practical.

As far as installation is concerned, gas ovens will need to be installed by a Corgi registered engineer, electric ovens should be installed by an electrician. It is important to get your oven fitted correctly by a professional to ensure that it is safe and efficient to use.

So, which oven type will you go for? Really the choice is yours, but be sure to think about what you will use your oven for and this should make the choice between gas and electric so much easier.

Biomass Potential Source Of Biofuel

According to Eropean Environment Agency ( EEA) the use of biomass as biofuel or clean energy in uerope could be significantly encrease in the next decade. The potential biomass in uerope to be sufficient to meet this demand.

This potential resource of energy also much available in the development countries such as asia and africa, much more biomass will be available through increased agricultural productivity and progress in plant bleeding. The agricultural product will not only supply foods but will be an amazing energy resource that we never think before.

The crops such as jatropa, nuts, etc are the oil resource to addition or subtitution of diesel fuels and sugarcane, casava, maize, could be process to bioethanol that can be used as addition or subtitution of gassoline and other light liquids fossil fuels.

The main problem that we must think carefully is the production cost of biofuels is more expensive than fossil fuels. In fact many machine and vehicle vactory still set their product to use fossil fuels as energy resource.

Fossil Fuels and Biofuels

Fuel as energy resource was known and used since the human was created by God ( i Think...) . The first time fuels are woods and leafts that falll from the plants and used for cooking, then fuels was developed into more efficient fuels as another solid fuels, liquid fulels, and gas.

Right now fuels devide into two major kind of fuels :
1. Irregenerative Fuels Materals
are the fossilfuels, based of crude oils ad natural gas that we explored from the earth years to years.

2. Regenerative Fuels Matereals
are the biofuels that made from renewable resource such as biomass, crops, etc trough several production steps: Dextruxtion,Fermentation, and transesterification.

Fossil fuels still dominan on the people consumption at transportation and Industrial sector. As we know at middle of 2008 many expert and company tray to make biofuels development becouse the increase fossil fuels price trough US$140/barrel, but at the beggining 2009 fossil fuels price decrease into less then US$40/barrel.This cause the biofuels consumption decrease becouse biofuels is much expensive then fossil fuels.

Biofuels known as an alterantive for save energy and an solution for global warning problem. But with this situation ( biofuels is expensive) will be hard for us to change our mind and use biofuels for our vehicle and cooking. I think the wise action that we can do start at home is mix the fossil fuels with biofuels, at least reduce the environment risk.
